How well does Windows Firewall protect my system? I am thinking about uninstalling my current firewall and using Windows Firewall to conserve system resources. Is Windows Firewall good enough for your personal computer?

It will block any incoming that isn't allowed with an exception, as far as I know it doesn't monitor outgoing. It does a decent job for a basic firewall.

Are your resources SOO constrained that you feel you must put your machine at risk? Don't do it man, Nooooooo!

I used it for a while and it work alright and then wham-bam all of a sudden it decided that it wouldn't let me access other computers on the network.  Needless to say it's been turned off now, as far as resources go I've found Comodo to be pretty good.

No matter how good it is, it will always be the one that is under attack.

Why not buy a router? Most routers nowadays have built in firewalls. That way it won't take up any resources. Just a note: one thing you do loose with a hardware firewall is the ability to block at the OS application level (meaning you can't tell the firewall to block all traffic from a particular executable.)
