Workers give up passwords for chocolate and a smile

That is merely just speculation from someone who has issues with America and his own nationality. The fact is that the test was done in Britain and proves the citizens of Britain are not that sharp and are weak. If you wish to provide a link to a similar test in America please feel free to, otherwise keep your hands off your keyboard and just think what you feel about me instead.

London (England) - Most companies have secrets protected by passwords, but according to a recent study those passwords can be obtained with just a candy bar and a smile. The Infosecurity Europe group surveyed 300 office and IT workers and found that nearly two-thirds of them were prepared to give up their passwords for a chocolate bar and a smile from an attractive “researcher”. IT workers, whom we would consider to be more secretive, fared better than their paper and pencil pushing coworkers, but still fell victim.:doh: British are so stupid and helpless. http://www.tgdaily.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31659&Itemid=118[^]

Heck, if asked, I would trade my password for a half chocolate bar and a smile form a moderetaly attractive "researcher". It's not as if they knew, where I was working or if they somehow find out (as they did with the IT professionals), they probably can't get to my computer. And even if they managed to do that (or try something like remote desktop to access it), they would just be confronted with the fact, that I gave them some random password I made up on the spot. I'm also convinced, that's what some (if not a lot) of the 300 workers did. OT: 100th post! Woot!

ouch - take it easy. Take it out on Captain SS not all of us.
I realised that was an indirect insult to Americans after I hit submit, but then being from England (which is different from Britain CapSS) I am obviously dumb enough to give my password out for chocolate and a smile so can't be expected to spot things like that! The insult was directed at CaptainSS as he is clearly an idiot!

Why waste money on a chocolate bar? Many major cases of corporate espionage were possible because employees gave out their security details over the telephone. "Hello, my name is David and I am calling from IT Security. We need to reset your access rights or you won't be able to log on to the network. What is your user id? and your password? [small pause] Ok, we have reset your account and you shouldn't notice any other problems. Bye."
