but with dialup most of this is useless. Also tried to follow a link on the sight to another story, got an error message. Tried to report it so they could fix it but did not feel like giving my email adress. Their information is probably as accerat as thier web page ( and my spelling!). Us dinasours must go to bed now. ;)

I guess I didn't really see the advantage that appears when you cut loose functionality such as drag and drop, performance, privacy and security. I can access my calander from anywhere with an internet connection, and my phone proudly displays it connected or not. I just don't see the advantage. And whats with these free passes he is handing out to google? Oh well interopertability would disappear if everyone else used this product. Well no sh*t sherlock, interopertability by definition is working with other platforms. Is google seriously trying to say we have 100% interopertability if you don't plan on working with anybody other than us? Oh and just because the PM for Google Apps says you don't have to worry about security or privacy that you don't have to? I honestly don't understand how FF3, no matter how good it may or may not be, will give you access to resources you currently don't have network access to.

It's Wired. They give free passes to whatever technology-du-jour their editors/writes get a stiffy to that day, and damn the facts! Blech :(

Then don't use them. I happen to like them and find it refreshing to use clean, simple & flexible applications rather than the bloated mess that MS Office has evolved into.

Nope, I'm not trying to say that they aren't any good. I just saw no reason to use it based on the mentioned article.

Maybe not, but they're pretty kewl for web apps. The spreadsheet especially. The word processor is pretty limited at this point. No header or footers is the killer for me. The fact that I can keep certain documents online and have them available anyplace I have a net connection is pretty nice.
