Currently: CLR via C# (2nd ed.) by Jeffrey Richter (excellent) A book on .NET internals the name of which eludes me right now, also by Jeffrey Richter (tough, but probably excellent) An Programmers Introduction to C# by Eric Gunenrson and Nick Wienholt (Good to get started if you come from a serious C++ or similar background, but not that exciting) "Become the perfect asshole in 12 gratifying, antisocial steps" - or did you not want me to include self development books? :rolleyes: *)whose? whiches?

I haven't been programming all that long, only really six months or so, and I have been reading Code Complete (2nd Ed.). It's a really useful book that introduces a lot of key concepts that I hadn't already been exposed to in my hardware background. I'd definitely recommend it if you are fairly new to programming.

Looking at what everyone else is reading, you can really get a good idea of what part of the realm that is "Windows Programming" everyone is working in. I'm currently re-reading both Microsoft Windows Internals, 4th edition (Solomon and Russinovich) and Programming The Microsoft Windows Driver Model, 2nd edition (Oney). Can you tell I do lower level stuff than most people here? :) Judy

I am reading for fun Code by Petzold. For bedtime reading I am reading Fowlers Refactoring. For morning and bathroom reading I am reading the pragmatic programmer. And for programming I am randomly flipping through the free copy of Code 0; Oh and a new MSDN and Microsoft Architectural Journal has come out and last months scientific american on Black holes and quantum theory. For geography thesis I am reading about Spatial Ontologies related to CS Ontologies. Some lite fun reading!!!

Plenty of C# above. I've browsed through DotNetZero pdf book by Charles Petzold. I've tended to prefer working with C++ though, but i'm a closet convert to the flow of C#. You're right John, cannot be Developer at all the time, love to bake though :) i'm reading Destructive Emotions by Daniel Goleman covering opinions between Western Scientists and Buddist Philosophies - No slacking here :D B -- modified at 15:13 Thursday 19th April, 2007

No C++. That's for dinosaurs. :) (Ducks and runs for cover) However, I do have the earlier editions of the Scott Meyers books. They or comparable should be mandatory for C++ devs. I'm in .NET land at the moment, so I'm reading Pro WF.
