I've been browsing and I saw all these languages and thought that maybe Java plays a big role? Why aren't there JAVA Boards in CP?

How many programs, written in Java, are both usable and used in Windows ?

Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++ Metal Musings - Rex and my new metal blog "I am working on a project that will convert a FORTRAN code to corresponding C++ code.I am not aware of FORTRAN syntax" ( spotted in the C++/CLI forum )

There is. It's no longer linked to anywhere because no-one used it. Well, ok, i used it for a few random conversations, but no-one used it for talking about Java...

I saw someone have a clickety link to it about a week ago. Only thing that comes to my mind about Java is a hot cup of coffee in the morning :->

That's one. Got anymore? Seriously, outside of dev tools, I can't really think of much of any general purpose end user products that people actually use.

Well, if you think about it, covering the Java language would not be sufficient. As with other languages supported here on CP, you'd also have to "invest" in supporting dialogs on Java tools, platforms, etc. I think the resulting site would be too much of a mishmash users, special interests, and technologies. Not to mention probably needing to support discussions on both pure Java and JavaScript (enough of which happens anyways as part of the ASPxxx forums). (There, now I gave a reasonable explanation instead of the half-a-dozen or so flip answers that came to mind). Marc

Parts of Visual Studio. I have over 500 users for the RDC software I wrote in C#, and will soon have a similar number for a radiograph viewing program. The point is that Java UI has always sucked in Windows. Oracle, for example. Their DB is fine, but the (Java) client tools are a disaster.

Ignore me. I'm just being wierd. Too much documentation and diagramming, coupled with sore muscles from playing soccer and too much chili this weekend. Not to mention blowing about 10,000 platinum on mass aid and resurrection scrolls. Marc
