canbus interface

I am new in canbus, I have this vauxhall propriatery interface , and i have know idea where to start from. any one who could give me some userfull tips based on their experience, that how can I interface to a canbus , front end is to be designed in any .net langhuage, preferable C# or vb.net any help would be much appreciated , links to books, docs, practical examnples , code etc,,,, please thanks
