Sorry but that is bullshit. This is Kallis we are talking about. The same man who came into a game needing to do better than a run a ball and then stood there poking away to claim 1 run every two balls. Kallis' mother couldn't guilt him into anything. The man is a rock about which the rest of the world rushes. Nothing gets to him*. Ponting's quip will bounce off Kallis and probably dig into Smith or Gibbs who will feel the pressure and do something stupid... or brilliant. You never can tell with the SA cricket team. (And Ponting knows his remark will have no affect on Kallis.) * This is a good and bad thing. Sometimes we need him to be a rock but othertimes we need him to be a firecracker and he just won't play ball.

I'm not looking to racially denigrate anyone (and don't care how that sounds compared to what I said in this thread and others in the past) I'm just sick and tired of being called a racist by bucket loads of people who don't like what I've said cause I've got ridiculously pasty white skin. When they call me names it's OK but not the other way around. I actually believe the 'white' cricket nations are too scared at this point in time to stand up to the asian block (when they are wrong) for fear of the racism card. I think the main reason is that 80% of ICC revenue comes from India and since India's gotta be friends with Pakistan and Sri Lanka (for cricket anyway - we fight with each other for everything else), that makes all of Asia powerful. Incidentally the Windies have normally been pro-Eng/Aus, so I don't know where you got vibes about them being pro-Asia. Due to the loss of match against srilanka the new zealand captain Stephen Fleming resigns his skipper post and he said that i want to continue playing in the side and stay in charge of the Test team. Fleming Said: "I still want to captain the Test side," added Fleming, who became skipper in the longer format at the same time as taking over the reins in the one-day team. "I've only just turned 34 and I think I've still got some good batting years ahead of me." Good Desicion made by Fleming.

I reckon Hair was solid at least if not very good, I've never claimed great. His greatest strength was to call what he saw, as he saw it and as it had to be applied according to the rules of cricket. No fear and no kissing up to any country, bias or power block. I think he is a great loss to the game and I still believe racism was at fault. Be it the Asian block out to get the great whitey or the non Asian block of cricket getting rid of him so the Asian block would get pissed off with them.
