Religion is designed to make people docile and compliant. It suits the religious authorities. 'Heretic' means 'chooser'. 'Non heretic' means doing what you are told, blinly, without choice. No need for me to tell you what I prefer to be.

I don't think the study is talking about Muslims. If you read the description of the religion they studied, it seems to be Christianity and the antithesis of Islam.

Also, explain how it's "brave" and not selfish to do that when you firmly believe that you will be "rewarded" with paradise? Why would killing swaths of innocent people for you own personal gain be considered positive?

John Bartkowski, a Mississippi State University sociologist and his colleagues asked the parents and teachers of more than 16,000 kids, most of them first-graders, to rate how much self control they believed the kids had, how often they exhibited poor or unhappy behavior and how well they respected and worked with their peers.
No blinding, subjective measures, testing the parents'/teachers' opinions of the children rather that the children themselves ... nope, no problems with that study.:laugh:
