All politicians are the same, with only a few notable exceptions. I've only seen one politician I'd trust in my whole life. All the rest, to hell with them. It cannot be that hard to be honest and to respect the opinion of the people, can it? And as for "the doctor proved himself good": no, it was just proven that their is not enough material for persecution, or not a level of guilt that would justify persecution. I would understand "essentially cleared" as "there were some suspicions, but nothing that could be proved". I do not know Mr Frist, this is just an interpolation from how this usually works out.

As I noted above, there is a distinct difference between Republicans and Democrats. While Republicans actually remove those people guilty of corruption, Democrats promote them. I mean...The FBI has a freakin' videotape of Jefferson accepting bribes.

That's wrong. He provided emails that were dated far before the sale citing his intention to sell in order to purge any conflict of interest. It wasn't merely a lack of evidence that caused the attorneys to drop their case. Frist provided evidence that the sale was not only appropriate, but mandated by congressional ethics.

That's right, they tried to RELAX ethics rules just for him. As for Frist, he wasn't removed by the republican establishment for ethical lapses he was widely viewed by republicans as ineffective as majority leader. His heavy involvement in the 2006 Elections and the Drubbing they recieved didn't help his cause any either. To address the issue of Jackson I don't know that there's much that can be done. He won't resign and the democrates can't make him. Hell he was re-elected while the investigation was ongoing. It's not much different than Cornyn who stayed till he was convicted. The party doesn't decide who stays and who goes. It's up to the individual congress member.

Last I checked, DeLay resigned and still no charges have stuck over a year later and numerous grand juries. As for Frist, why would he resign when he had evidence proving his innocence? Or are you actually suggesting that he should have resigned despite being innocent while Jefferson remained on the Budget Committee after accepting $100,000 in bribes?

If you recall, Democrats (and even a couple lecherous Republicans) circled the wagon and attacked Bush for the FBI investigating Jefferson. It was also the Democrats that appointed him to the Budget Committee AFTER he was videotaped accepting bribe money (he doesn't get that position automatically...He needs to voted by the House into that position). Democrats threatened Bush with all sorts of legal action if a case was pursued against Jefferson citing separation of powers, so it was effectively buried. And the Democrats could easily put pressure on him to resign and encourage an investigation into his videotaped wrongdoings (as the Republicans did to that guy pursuing interns last year..whatever his name was). Instead they've defended him and actively blocked any investigations. But I suppose that's what we've all come to expect from leftists...Corruption justified by membership.

"no, it was just proven that their is not enough material for persecution" persecute - to pursue with harassing or oppressive treatment, esp. because of religion, race, or beliefs; harass persistently. prosecute - to institute legal proceedings against (a person).

While I'm not advocating revolution, it appears that the left and Osama share a common goal to undermine democracy in the west. Why all the calls for both Bush and Cheney to be impeached (thus giving Democrats the executive branch)? Even when Republicans pursued Clinton (for proven perjury), they never made an attempt or hinted at one to remove Gore. Why all the phoney prosecutions of Republicans while defending and promoting people who have been proven to outright take huge bribes? Why the constant and erroneous claims that Bush "stole" the presidency (and is thus democratically illegitimate and should be removed)? Why the active effort to prevent any investigations into voter fraud? Why the opposition of legislation (and blocking of legitimate legislation via the courts) of voter ID laws that prevent such fraud? Why the increasing persecution of free political speech (via McCain-Feingold) and funding of propaganda efforts via organizations like MoveOn.org? The whole thing stinks of corruption at the highest level with the singular goal of ousting democratically-elected officials such that they can simply be replaced by left-wing elitists bent on power.

Communism is most prevelant in the East (China, Russia, North Korea, Vietnam, etc...). Of course we're left in comparison to the Middle East, but so was Nazi Germany.

No it's not a theory that the Warren Commission gave us the Magic Bullet Theory and hid the finding of the commission from the public. It's a fact therefore not a theory. The act of hiding the truth is a conspiracy of itself and of course since the magic bullet theory is an obvious lie it is also evidence of a conspiracy. And I would have to do some checking but I don't remember conservatives being alone in this effort.

I am, of course, referring to this:

"They", huh? Is "they" the conservatives who attempted to undermine the government by killing Kennedy (who fought Communism and was conservative by today's standards and a moderate back then) and replacing him with his liberal vice president?. Surely it was conservatives, since JFK (who's election was won with the aid of organized crime in Ohio) who killed him because nobody (like organized crime which he and his brother pursued, despite being helped by them, and who killed Oswald) would want him dead. Surely the fact that Oswald spent quite a bit of time in the USSR could have nothing to do with it. It was conservatives. Tell me more "facts". This is very telling.

Wow, that really explain a lot. Too bad "they" didn't think of that back when FDR was in charge - when it would actually have done some good. I suppose that explains why Nixon went on to become one of our most liberal presidents.
