We Hate Us

don't forget the UN.
Mike The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

That list can be shortened to just "extremists".
My list, or only item rather, is: "idiots".

So you think leftists, Europeans and Muslims are all idiots? Looks like you're finally getting some sense.

The post title was a wordplay on the "they hate us because" meme. Since Ron Paul says our actions contributed to the attacks (the "we brought it on ourselves" meme) and Rudy is of the "they hate us" view, the pun-aliciously obvious answer is "We hate us". A difference of opinion? Let's see if I can find any posts where you describe "leftists" who said what Ron Paul did as merely expressing a difference of opinion.

I doubt I said anything on Ron Paul. Actualy, except for his stance on intervention I agree with an awful lot of his views.

AN I was pulling your chain, mostly. I really wanted to highlight the difference in approaches of FNC v. MSNBC.

An irate Rudy Giuliani blasted a fellow Republican candidate at last night's GOP debate for trying to blame the United States for 9/11. When Texas Rep. Ron Paul didn't back down from saying that American meddling around the world triggered the attacks, an exasperated Giuliani said, "Can I have 30 seconds, please!" Moderator Brit Hume then cut off further discussion on the topic.[^]

Not on Ron himself, but on a lib who used similar words. What was your opinion when Bill Maher or Michael Moore said our interventionism in foreign lands contributed to the 9/11 attack? Was it just a differing opinion when Bill and Mike said it?

I don't agree and probably don't disagree. My opinion is it isn't material. As a world power you are obligated to to do some level of intervention as protection for allies and as premption. I don't for a minute believe 9-11 is a response to any intevention, but rather a function of an Islamic desire to cow a world power with (their view) a degenerate society.

possibly. if what I read is corect, he's pissed about non-Muslims in Muslim land. I suspect that extends to Shiites as well.

Rudy will be our next president.
The reality is that it probably will happen (IMHO). The following may be sexist and racist, but this is how I see it: People are now wanting to vote for any viable Democratic Party candidate, but if the democrats don't come up with a viable ticket, they will lose decisively. At the beginning of the year, we had a Super Bowl with 2 African-American coaches. It was made up as a historical event. How do we go from having 2 coaches of color to the first African-American President. I don't think the country is ready for it. Secondly, history repeats itself. Remember Geraldine Ferraro? Remember that ticket? The final tally was a 49 states to 1 blowout. Stop with the gimmick ticket, and come up with a viable Presidential Candidate, or lose an election that is almost being handed to them.
