From the Insider: Google is failing the Microsoft litmus test

You wanna talk about evil, eh? Bob (:bob:) is one evil SoB entity! What kind of sinister maniac stands in the same place day after day, nude, with his its hands ripped off, staring at you, and never even blinks?!?! :~ -- modified at 11:34 Friday 25th May, 2007 Edits made per Nish's request. Changed all references from Bob being referred to as a male, to an asexual entity. This prevents us all from hanging out on a site with a "frontally nude male" mascot. Thanks Nish, good catch!! :-D
:josh: My WPF Blog[^] FYI - Bob is a scarecrow who keeps Chuck Norris away from CodeProject.

Hey Josh, I'd appreciate it if you referred to Bob as "it". I hate the idea of spending several hours a day on a website whose mascot is a frontally nude male.

The Google web page crawler has already scanned, indexed, cross-referenced and made notes about your undesired remarks. Within moments, Google agents will be notified via GMail of the situation and will be given your exact whereabouts, via Google Maps; driving directions will be assigned to them and a 3D map of your office building and house will be made available to them on Google Earth Mobile Ed. After coordination with local authorities, using GTalk, of course, you will be picked up for slandering the global giant; the entire arrest event will be captured and posted on Google Videos with links to the story via Google News. [addendum] It is at this point, I would like to mention that here in Atlanta, GA we have a local law enforcement division called the GBI. Atlanta is also the location of Google's main office. Coincidence? I think not.

Don't forget that it will be plastered all over YouTube. Google owns them too.

Oops. Thanks for the correction (shame on me for not looking it up). I'll go fix my posting; need to be certain I keep my Google conspiracy information as accurate as possible ... or something. :->

Google is failing the Microsoft litmus test[^] Interesting. I'd like to state that I have maintained, through thick and thin, through all the GMail invites, GTalk invites, Gblah stuff, and that annoyingly easy and convenient facade of an interface, that Google is Evil. So there. (but hey, it's not like they are any more evil than anyone else. Just, to me anyway, scarier Evil than the blanc mange, kinda tired Evil we have nowadays)

Microsoft is evil. Google is evil. 99.99% of everything is evil. Lime-green jello is not evil.

Sounds like the rant of someone who thought about buying in at $85 a share but decided against it. ;P

Lime-green jello with shredded cabbage and carrots mixed into it* is not evil. * One of my mother's 'salad' ideas when I was a kid. Blech!

Mine too. Explain to me why anyone - anywhere - ever - in the history of the world thought that was a good idea. Ewww. Yet seemingly it's a favorite to bring to potlucks. Oh and don't forget to mix in plenty of whipped cream. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: X|

The fact that Gmail is storing all my emails, forever, even after I close the account isn't very comforting in my mind. Luckily for me, I don't do much on my gmail email in privacy terms.

before closing the account can't you just do delete all and permanently empty trash to obliterate them eternally?
-- You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer

Doesn't that just set the deleted flag on all the items, so you can't read them any more? :suss:
