How to exclude web.config from Publish Web

This is driving me nuts; I have, as you might expect, different settings in my web.config file on my dev, staging & live servers. How can I tell VS2005 to NOT publish web.config when I use the Publish Web menu option? It's annoying having to keep overwriting it with a local copy each time. Regards, Tim Skipper
