Got another order, the new Saxon CD ( with bonus DVD, which was unexpected ), which I am listening to now, it rocks. Also got a Stryper live DVD. Dunno why I keep trying to like those guys. To hell with the Devil is catchy tho. The two books: Black Sabbath : Doom Gone Mad. or something. This is your brain on music - another brain science book, this one on why we like music. So, some more books for the pile by the bed. Which is where I am going now.

They have decent music, but that guys voice bugs me. It makes it all unlistenable.

Me too - that pretty much completed my Isis[^] and Red Sparowes[^] collections (I'm on a bit of a 'post-metal' kick at the moment). I saw Isis a few weeks ago - very tight playing. Having said that, I'm listening to my Rush playlist at the moment - Fly By Night, Caress of Steel, 2112, Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Signals and Grace Under Pressure, back-to-back. Red Barchetta right now. My one outstanding Amazon order (in transit now) contains the new Shellac[^] album, Excellent Italian Greyhound[^], which I'm looking forward to (although the rendition of The End of Radio won't be as good as the one they did as a tribute to John Peel, I'm sure).

Funny, I find their songs often just miss something, but I think he's got a really good voice.

Yeah, they have taken forever to send me a Voivod album. Is the Rush thing in response to the new album ?

Kind of - I've only recently got Fly by Night and a couple of the others on my iPod, and thought I'd put a chronological playlist together. It stops at Grace Under Pressure 'cause I'm not so keen on Rush after that and the new one's done nothing to change that. It's just kind of.....meh, really.

Finally picked up the new Saxon. Great stuff! Is it me, or does the production of State of Grace suck? Not that it's top notch elsewhere, but that song really stands out to me. Overall, I'm really liking it though. Thanks for the tip. Looking forward to the DVD.
