Just ran into a really cool band called Gogol Bordello, very interesting music actually. They mix traditional ukranian and gypsy music with a punk flair. Just curious if anyone else has heard of this band or style of music as I know cpians are a diverse group when it comes to music. Here is a wikipedia entry if you are curious: More Info :-D

Yep, BBC Radio 1's weekly punk show[^] has been playing them for about a year. I find the folk-punk of mix Gogol Bordello quite endearing. Have a listen to the show if you get the time (I think you can listen online) they have other similar bands (although I've not heard much in the way of ukranian folk punk).

Its so catchy, since I heard my first taste I have been walking around singing their musing. Especially like their song, dogs were barking. I will have to give that a listen if I can get a feed. If you like them also try Dresden Dolls, a little bit better known, but great to listen to.

I came across them about a year ago - different! Still very listenable though if you like a folk/punk/rock sort of mix. You might also try Flogging Molly who are an Irish version of GB (IMO!)
