Help Get Rex's Story out

You all probably know about Rex's site (http://www.readytogiveup.com/[^]) but we are just a small part of the web community. I have submitted Rex's story to Digg, I hope you guys can take a small amount of time to vote for it. I skimmed the info on the site, and couldn't find full names, addresses, or other identifiable information regarding this. Ask me whatever you want. With the identity theft going on I kept it very thin on purpose. Plus it's my daughter. What would you like to know to prove this is real? Her medical file is about 18" thick. I've never done anything like this before, ever and have no idea what I'm doing. But then I suppose if I did there would be a cause for concern in that fact alone.

Nobody but the biggest @$$H0L3 in the world would use children to take money from other people. I just don't know how to do this. I'm tired. I haven't slept in about 5 nights (I'm awake every 5 minutes and anxiety is ripping me up. My wifes hormones are not in balance any more. She's cracking from the stress.) People just don't make this up. If I'm making any of this up I'll meet you anywhere in the world and let you beat me with blunt objects until you feel the truth has been measured. Right now that would be the easy way out for me.

You should have what you need. The FTP is the domain name and the rest is easy. It's all hosted on PLESK.

The difference is that Rex is known to many people in CP and some of the CPIans know about his daughter's condition. But yes it will not hurt to provide a little more information and have a charitable account too.

Ahh... I remember you talking about your kid's health problems before - I just didn't realize your name was Rex. Sorry about that. Please don't take offense at my initial suspiciousness. I think the vast majority of people in the world would give the shirt off their own back to help a stranger in need, and for every 100,000 of those good, honest people, there's always one snake-in-the-grass looking to take advantage of that. Anyway, talk to your local bank and ask them about a low-cost savings account or charitable fund. You can set it up (I've known of others that have done so in emergency scenarios) such that the account is in the fund's name, and you don't have to make your own name publicly available. You can provide the bank name and account number on the site, which suspicious people such as myself can use to verify that this isn't some sort of PayPal scam. This also gives people the ability to donate via wire-transfer from their own bank, which some people may feel much more comfortable with than PayPal. You may also want to ask around at accounting firms or independent CPA's to see what sort of tax liabilities the donations might incur. They may be able to help you setup a charitable organization that manages the funds tax-free. The last thing you need, it sounds like, is the IRS riding your butt about some donations. If this *is* a scam, its been veeeeeeeeery long in the setup. code-frog's been an active member on these boards for quite some time (not as long as me, but much more active). Would I trust it enough to donate my life's savings? Nope. Enough to not have a few beers next weekend? Yes. And given Rex's previous posts, I'm sure crying out for help must have been far from easy. Heck, its worth a fiver just to keep him around for humorous put downs of link2006, etc. Iain.

I am willing to help in any way I can. I would suggest some way of showing that this is legit. A picture, something. Also, a digg this link, reddit, slashdot etc.
