        I think in this case, the idea is that it's from the song -happy birthday, dear Nish, with the last word in the message and not the subject. But, overall, I believe a term that's commonly used in India, translates to 'dear'.

              That make sense, it's something I've noticed a few times when amke Indian folk have made replies etc.
