      The complete news: "Controversy continued on Monday as surgeons successfully transplanted little Django's brain into a robot monkey body. Scientists now say human-to-robot brain transplants will be possible within ten years. On a sad note, however, Django died late Tuesday, after drinking his own urine." So the question is: "Would you put your brain in a robot body?"

        I am thinking what would be the implications if it is possible to transfer human brain ?

        That would give whole new meaning to "give someone brain".

          I have seen it on a TV documentary. I don't remember much of the details, like date, place, and who did it. They were saying that after a few hours the monkey wake up and act somewhat normal. eat, play, etc...

            That is already possible. There is a chimp in Africa that has convinced others to live harmoniously and peacefully. Before the transplant, the chimp used conniving tricks to dispose of other powerful chimps in the jungle. The brain transplant succeded; last that I heard, the original brain of the chimp was transplanted to the incumbent president ruling one of the most powerful country on earth, the US. ;)

                or like this ? Yourbrain = Yourbrain + Mybrain; Mybrain = Yourbrain; // - Mybrain; Yourbrain = Yourbrain - Mybrain;

                This doesn't work.

                  I believe if my brain was transfered into a different body and my body a different brain I would consider the brain to be me as the body does not think. Although I know my brain would feel weird in a girls body.

                    Because our thoughts(generated by the brain) make up our conscience and self-awareness, this procedure would be improperly named "Brain Transfer". Instead it should be called "Total Body Transfer" because if would ever going to wake up after such an operation you would realize that YOU live in a different body, not that you have a different brain.

                    Plus.. the bigger questions is: what's to be achieved by transplanting the brain into another body. The other person would have to agree to the swap. Why would would he/she agree to it, since the other would be "inferior" otherwise the other person wouldn't even want a body swap :). But ok maybe in some odd cases two persons prefer to own the other person's body. Let's say there was a physical and legal way to accomplish it, I wonder what the implications of that would be. The other option is that the person donating the brain is dead. But definition they aren't dead until the brain dies. So of what use is the brain? Can it can be revived? It starts to degenerate rapidly without blood flow. You can't keep it in a cooler box for a few hours like a liver or a heart! :doh:

                      first of all, think on all the developers you have ever known, with all the eccentricies they have, many varying far and beyond any stereotype. Now take all that variety (and insanity/chaos) and imagine delivering one interface that correctly interfaces to, and reads from these people properly. Because before such technology ever gets out in the marketplace, some programmer somewhere is going to have to attempt it. Then someone will wonder why it doesn't work for anyone else. ;)
