I need some suggestions on getting a new mouse for gaming (i.e. a PC mouse, not a live furry one). My current one is a Logitech cordless optical but it's starting to get a bit old now. (it's roughly 6 years old now) So far I have a few suggestions but I have no idea which is good or not. Razer Copperhead, Razer Diamondback, Logitech G5 and the Microsoft Habu Mouse are what's been suggested at the moment. I'm not that big on gaming these days but I still play a fair amount so I don't really want the most expensive mouse out there but I still need something decent. Any advice or suggestions?

I've got a Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and I'm very happy with it. Excellent resolution and even better ergonomics. I love it. BTW, I use it also for gaming (FPS) and I don't have issues.

I got myself a Razer copperhead a couple of years ago, and found that the shape hurt my hand. The lump was too high, and bent my wrist at an odd angle. Try before you buy!

I am not sure how if it qualifies as a "gaming mouse", but I know for me in the past playing Quake and UT classic and UT 2004, I enjoyed my Graphire tablet mouse. It does not have any batteries nor cables, you just use it on the 4x5 pad. It is very light!

Bought myself the Logitech G5 and I absolutely love it, haven't tried the other ones though. Perfect for games, and the changeable speed is also very useful for programs like Photoshop (very slow for accurate mouse movement).

Well, the best advice is get what fits best into your hand. In general I prefer razer mice because of the traditional shape and slanted sides which helps me easily pick up the mouse. I prefer Razer Diamondback for work because it feels a little bit more comfortable than CopperHead. However, I prefer CopperHead for games as it's slightly larger which allows for finer control over minute movement. On the cons side CopperHead also has slightly different construction so whereas diamondback feels very very sturdy and well made, the primary buttons on Copperhead feel a little lose (I have two copperheads and they both have lose buttons). I haven't tried deathadder as it seems even bigger than copperhead which might not be as comfortable for me, it's missing two side buttons and it has non-slanted right side which means it will be harder to pick up in the air. PS I avoid Logitech mice for their craptastic drivers.

my current MX610s installed painlessly. The horrid driver install problems that plagued two older usb logitech mice I had in the past appear to've finally been fixed. They were truely horrific at one point. Add new hardware couldn't find the driver automatically and the mouse itself was totally nonfunctional without the driver installed. The wizard was clearly never tested by anyone only using a keyboard as an input device. :wtf: I swore off logitech produces for several years as a result. I only bought my current mice after MS canceled their lefthanded mouse and logitech got their model to market.
