So when people get an illness like cancer it is not caused by demons but by freewill?

The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity. - John Adams

First of all, good try at trying to twist my words. Let me try to give a couple of examples: 1) Lung cancer- can be caused by smoking -this is freewill 2) Lung cancer- can be caused by no outside influence such as smoking but by the curse on Man brought about by Adam. -this section would be for people that have not accepted Christ 3) Lung cancer- can be caused by a demon when someone harbors anger or offense in their heart against someone. -this is where both a saved and unsaved person can get into trouble. I am not suggesting that the are punished but that, when a person gets outside the Commandments that person is fair game to demons. Think of it like this The Commandments are a super umbrella that is keeping out of hyper-active acid as long as you are under the umbrella you are fine but if you get outside of it you get burned. When I say an unsaved person I mean one that was heard the Law but has refused it.

Sorry to intrude on your fun here. I usually just read thru the Soapbox & move on, but could you explain this? So if I'm not christian, a non smoker & generally nice guy, and I happen to get lung cancer, it's because some guy who may or may not be real decided to eat some fruit thousands of years ago?

Makes much more sense now. I always figured cancer was from the sun god who was angry because of the lack of human sacrifices, I never considered the naked woman in the garden with the apple. :~

At Pentacost the demons were bound. The spirit of truth was poured out amongst all flesh. We only suffer our own actions and the side effects of a poisoned world.

            This statement was never false.

Let me answer your question like this: If you are not a Christian, a non smoker, and generally a nice guy, you can still get cancer. Sounds wrong doesn't it. Man was made prefect and was not meant to be sick. God gave Man a freewill with a Blessing and only one rule was laid out for him, not to eat of the fruit. At that time Man was higher than the Devil and his mob, but after Man disobeyed God he fell under the Devil, by that Man cursed himself. That is to say, God gave the instruction and what the effect of not following the instruction would be. So look at the umbrella, as long as Man followed the instruction Man was under God's umbrella. When Man stepped out from underneath that umbrella, Man was fair game to result.

I understand what you are saying here. IMO, from the experiences in my life and the fact that I have tried to disprove the Bible in my life. I have found it true and that it works as it says it does. Think of this though: What was Mona Lisa thinking while she was sitting there? How do you know that there is not life on another planet? Have you ever lost a loved one like a parent or grandparent? -Prove that you loved them. There are somethings that you have to take on faith.

You have faith that there is not life on another planet? Based on the drake equation the probability of there being more than one planet with intelligent life in the milky way is almost 1, not to mention all the other billions of galaxies...

Being completely unfamiliar with the "Drake Equation[^]", I looked into it on Wikipedia. It took me all of 3 seconds looking at the equation to know that it's a pile of BS. It's a string of unknown and unverifiable (through current means) numbers multiplied together to get a number (not a probability) of planets with intelligent life. Michael Chriton's quote at the bottom of the page seems about right to me: "Speaking precisely, the Drake equation is literally meaningless, and has nothing to do with science. I take the hard view that science involves the creation of testable hypotheses. The Drake equation cannot be tested and therefore SETI is not science. SETI is unquestionably a religion."

At Pentacost the demons were bound. The spirit of truth was poured out amongst all flesh. We only suffer our own actions and the side effects of a poisoned world.

                                This statement was never false.

Yes and no. After accepting Christ into your life and being filled with the spirit of truth, you then have the authority to bound demons.

I have often wondered how would you react, being a christian, if microbial life was discovered on Mars or Europa, or if a planet was discovered around another star that had life? Wouldn't that discount the Genesis creation story?

Where is it written in the bible that if you are not saved then demons can blight you? What you are saying with regard to demons, if you are not saved, is nowhere to be found in the bible. This is all hyperbole.
