You have faith that there is not life on another planet? Based on the drake equation the probability of there being more than one planet with intelligent life in the milky way is almost 1, not to mention all the other billions of galaxies...

Being completely unfamiliar with the "Drake Equation[^]", I looked into it on Wikipedia. It took me all of 3 seconds looking at the equation to know that it's a pile of BS. It's a string of unknown and unverifiable (through current means) numbers multiplied together to get a number (not a probability) of planets with intelligent life. Michael Chriton's quote at the bottom of the page seems about right to me: "Speaking precisely, the Drake equation is literally meaningless, and has nothing to do with science. I take the hard view that science involves the creation of testable hypotheses. The Drake equation cannot be tested and therefore SETI is not science. SETI is unquestionably a religion."

At Pentacost the demons were bound. The spirit of truth was poured out amongst all flesh. We only suffer our own actions and the side effects of a poisoned world.

            This statement was never false.

Yes and no. After accepting Christ into your life and being filled with the spirit of truth, you then have the authority to bound demons.

I have often wondered how would you react, being a christian, if microbial life was discovered on Mars or Europa, or if a planet was discovered around another star that had life? Wouldn't that discount the Genesis creation story?

This is about the most ignorant argument for creationism that I have seen yet. http://www.demonbuster.com/id.html From the site: Evolution theory (with no scientific proof) - in recent times, man has been arguing about where HUMANS/LIFE came from. But no one is asking - WHO put the world here? WHERE did mountains come from? WHERE did the oceans come from? WHERE did the sun and moon and other planets come from? WHO put all this stuff there? Seems like these questions override where humans/life came from, and gives the real answer - a Higher Power - Intelligent Design - God!

As long as we're posting random inflammatory quotes from religious nuts. "Idiots, the lame, the blind, the dumb, are men in whom the devils have established themselves: and all the physicians who heal these infirmities, as though they proceeded from natural causes, are ignorant blockheads…." - Martin Luther The more things change...

Well, if I must. But a cursory lookup of Blight should have been enough. A blight is akin to cancer. You had specifically mentioned cancer. That you could get cancer from demon actions against you. I call bullshit. This is a fallacious interpretation of scripture. And that's all it can be is an interpretation. I am asking you directly what verses of scripture that you draw your conclusions from. The mind of man is unassailable by demons both through the spirit of truth that poured out on Pentacost and by the fact that Jesus quenched the rebellion through his incarnation. He bound them. He conquered. So, quote me some scripture. This is something that always bugs me, alot of fellow Christians, including many pastors, read more into scripture than what's there.

I was refering to christians in general. I say it would discount the genesis story because the only life it mentions that God created was humans/animals.

Let me answer your question like this: If you are not a Christian, a non smoker, and generally a nice guy, you can still get cancer. Sounds wrong doesn't it. Man was made prefect and was not meant to be sick. God gave Man a freewill with a Blessing and only one rule was laid out for him, not to eat of the fruit. At that time Man was higher than the Devil and his mob, but after Man disobeyed God he fell under the Devil, by that Man cursed himself. That is to say, God gave the instruction and what the effect of not following the instruction would be. So look at the umbrella, as long as Man followed the instruction Man was under God's umbrella. When Man stepped out from underneath that umbrella, Man was fair game to result.

I understand what you are saying here. IMO, from the experiences in my life and the fact that I have tried to disprove the Bible in my life. I have found it true and that it works as it says it does. Think of this though: What was Mona Lisa thinking while she was sitting there? How do you know that there is not life on another planet? Have you ever lost a loved one like a parent or grandparent? -Prove that you loved them. There are somethings that you have to take on faith.

Yeah it sounds wrong, but it happens. Does that mean the only possible explanation is Adam? I'm familiar with the genesis creation story, but I don't remember the timeline. How long of a period was it between man being cast out of the garden & the birth of christ?

No precise time line can be established from the text because the genealogies don't necessarily include every generation. The term usually translated 'son of' is equivalent to 'descendent of' or perhaps even 'of the tribe of'. On the other hand if you insert 1000 years for each step where a direct father son relationship can't be established you're still stretching to get more than a few tens of thousands of years. This fits easily enough with the unadjusted earth age data from ice and sediment cores of around about 25000 years. You did ask and I fully expect to get flamed and deluged with links to learned, bearded demi gods insisting on figures of billions of years. As you might guess I have no interest in such Iatolahs. :)

Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

Then please do explain petrified wood and its process of becoming opals.

                                          This statement was never false.
