Small amount of chocolate lowers blood pressure[^] Chocolate lovers have one more reason to celebrate. It seems that eating just 30 calories a day of dark chocolate a day can help lower blood pressure, without weight gain or other side effects, according to a new study.

    cheers, Chris Maunder

I read that - the 'small amount' is one square. Like I can eat just one square.

Well, if "eating just 30 calories a day of dark chocolate a day can help lower blood pressure" then imagine how healthy we'll be eating 10 times that amount! Mark

I'm probably the minority in this opinion but I find non-dark chocolate so disgustingly sweet that it completely overloads my taste buds making me literally feel ill in the mouth. How do people enjoy that stuff?! X|

I agree - sickly sweet milk chocolate is nowhere near as good as the 'real' dark stuff! and yes I do like to eat just one square occasionally - it practically kills my wife to watch me do it then put the rest back in the fridge :-D

The thing is, all US chocolate is too sweet, and not chocolately enough. Our milk chocolate is probably bitter and strong to you. Having said that, I love dark chocolate, way better than milk.

Supposedly, Hershey started out making milk chocolate with milk that was somewhat... off. Now, of course, that's their signature, so they can't change it...

Well said the rubbish that's labelled as chocolate in the UK is just that. The EU tried to get it re-labelled as it doesn't qualify a real chocolate, "family-chocolate" was the ridiculous moniker they came up with, anyhow big business won out and even though it's not it's still called chocolate. Some wonderful chocolate comes out of northern Italy, Liguria.
