Keyboard & Mouse

Hi folks My doctor has told me that I have a problem on my right wrist... well I bet you know what... Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, a classic ! I've moved my mouse to the left hand and, after a couple of weeks of training, works fine for the moment. But I'm trying to figure out how to definitively avoid the mouse, so I'd like to hear from you if you can share your suggestions, experiences on alternatives devices such as - Trackballs - External touchpads or keyboards with integrated touchpad - Tablets such as the Wacom Bamboo - Macro-keys keyboards such as the logitech G11 - Any other device or keyboard you've used - Software that may help in reducing mouse or keyboard usage Thanks for sharing.

I use a Microsoft Optical Trackball. However MS don't make them any more so you can only get them on eBay. I've tried other trackballs and they just don't fit my hand very well, or are just so badly designed that you wonder how it ever got into the shops.

I've thought about that - I'd like to hear from someone that has experienced them to see if they are any good before I spend money on one.

I have permanent very minor damage to my right wrist which I'm trying not to aggrevate. I use a Logitech tracker ball at work and an ordinary optical mouse at home. It is important to get a tracker ball that fits your hand though, I can't use my colleages larger heavier version at all. Switching was wierd for a while but now I don't even notice anymore and my wrist is better than it was a few months ago. Just a bit of trivia: Until recently all the actual balls for high quality tracker balls were made by one guy in Belgium who was the only one in the world who could make them close enough to perfectly round. He makes all the professional pool and snooker balls as well. :omg:
Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.
