Guys , I finally went to fashion valley mall, San Diego and looked at the "holy grail" of pocket devices. The IPhone. In one word it was awesome. Worked like nothing i have seen in years. I have used almost all the pocket devices so far, in last few years i had pocket pc , smart phone, pocket pc phone, black berry and right now a black jack (smartphone 5.0). frankly speaking i will buy it as soon as i get that extra cash of $500, since i have a cingular "yuck" account so i won't need any other service just the $20 service for internet. I saw people are trying to sell it on ebay for $800 something? guys are actually buying from there? You can anyday order directly from iphone.com. these ebayians are totally crazy people i know. Any crazy takers of iphone here at codeproject. Anybody got it yet ? Any exciting experiences. ? Don't tell you don't want to have an iphone. ;P

Well, it's certainly nice, but i'm one of those people that drops phones often, so mine are always "wearing" a leather jacket, and i doubt they make one for the iPhone. I'd hate to see the screen shatter. Roswell

Especially since there isn't a warranty to speak of. If the phone breaks, you get to buy a new one.

My boss has one. It is very slick and does work just like the hype said it would. Personally, I'm going to wait a bit (besides, I'd have to buy out the rest of my current contract to switch anyway) and see how the market responds.

Nice cases. The iPhone is very slick, but I'm not sure it's worth switching to just yet.

Hmm...it is:doh:. But they still haven't updated the site. There isn't a product page for that case, and they still have the note up saying it will come out in mid-june...perhaps they meant mid-july. Roswell:-O

Version 2.0 when it has a complete feature set and this beta version has been fully tested. so when the lock-ups stop when it comes to the UK when i can put my own application on so doesnt look like i will get one for some time, by which time i expect nokia to bring something better out. my N73 though has its own problems, does everything i need and doesnt look/feel like a bar of soap. :)

What exactly do you like about it other than it is a touch screen? Things like bug me about it like the battery has to be changed by Apple, AT&T for a provider, no contols at all other than by touch (the idea of a touch keyboard does not seem to hot), the cost and someone mentioned problem with third party development. I mean, a lot of people already have a MP3 player of some kind and already have a phone of some type (and probably with a better service), so what would be the attraction, besides being able to say you have an iPhone? Personally, I rather have a flip phone than a block, never caught on to that style not to mention that where I live I would have to send the phone out to have the battery replaced, what do you do while it is in the mail, my luck it would come back to life while in transit and make a noise and the postal service would think it was a bomb and blow it up :)

There you go! That's the motivation behind a lot of things.

I have no interest in one whatsoever. It's foolish to pay so much for a phone. Bragging rights is hardly worth spending $500 on.
