Personally, I think Code Project would be a better place if the entire content of India were blocked. Flame away folks! hahahaha. [edit] And to defend the indefensible: where do most of the plagiarized articles come from? where do most of the pointless posts come from? where do most of the "urgent, hlp mee plz" comments come from? from where do I personally receive the most solicitations for free help in my inbox every day? hmmm? ;P [/edit] Marc

I should've pointed that one out. I dont have any "Third-world-countries" concept (as often used by John) I wont even dare to call them so, because it's not about the country, but the people without common sense. We have Nish, Rama from India.. and If I'm right we have Vunic , Vikram and the people who have just replied you here they are all from India too. There's absolutely nothing wrong with them.Meanwhile we have a gem from the United States. Mr Kyle. So it's about the individual.

As far as I can remember, you were the one who asked me to write that article on laser gesture recognition. :) Now you want the entire content of India to be blocked? :~ Ashish

What I want is irrelevant. I could use the cliche "to every rule there are exceptions", but that's not the point either. The real point, and to my utmost surprise, is that I received four 5 votes in a matter of minutes. Does that mean people agree with me? Interesting implications, if that is the case. Something to think about. Marc

Of course it is. So? Does labelling it racist somehow change the reality of the situation? Does calling it racist mean I shouldn't have written what I said? Let's call something racism when it truly is, rather than using the word racism to obscure the issue. Marc

Your place for 16,503 free Visual Studio and .NET articles, code snippets, discussions, news and the best bunch of developers on the net. Indians not welcome. Maybe I'm naive, but I find it surprising your post has been voted seven straight 5s instead of being marked as abuse. (And no, I haven't voted)

          Cheers, Vıkram.

I was being sarcastic with the picture, I hate it when people whine about racism.

Thanks for posting what most of us already think (er, know). The good thing is that they're all making work for real talent to come in and capitalize. Most of their code is horrid, like the plagerized articles, "Please Help" posts, etc, etc, etc. Kudos to you.

My word! Shocking behaviour. ps, why would someone care about the message posting count?? I thought the point of a lounge was a place to hang out and chew the fat, not score meaningless points. Well thats how I see it anyway

To put "Active member of CodeProject community dedicated to teaching and mentoring junior developers as well as advancing computer skills and knowledge" in his resume (not good in bs'ing) and then of course mum the fact that most of his posts were in the lounge...

nothing against Nish, really, but i remember when he first started coming by. he would post dozens and dozens of messages every day (he does have 27,000+ messages, ya know). he was one of the first really prolific posters, of both posts and articles. i remember being astounded at the amount of stuff he would post about - i even made some comments in the lounge about it, which i can't find now. he's turned out to be a nice guy (from what i know of him here), but back in the day his commenting volume was truly shocking to some of us old-timers.

Some people are tired of Satips just posting links to news stories. No comments or anything. I personally find his jokes usually either old or not funny.

Mates, I'm going nuts over the posts of people like suckTips & Vasud..(A name as lengthy as a permalink URL). a Gem Sample[^]. Do we need messages like this?? The severity of that is the wild spreading of sucktips epidemic. More and more people's messages are starting to look like the above two's. That's very clear that both of these people's intention is to make a message_count++. (I wish we have a resetMsgCount() function enabled on their profiles.) Both of you listen, When you are about to post something, just make a stop and see if it's going to interest atleast some of the Loungers here. [Satips, dont count on Vasud..& vice versa. It's not appicable, Both of your message is going to interest each other. It doesn't count. loungers means THE geniune Loungers] Ok, it's not too late. Let's stop with these two. The idea is to remove any Juicy, fruity-way-to-Louge-Hyperlink that's taking these people to the lounge. and we all know the secret door(URL) to get into the Lounge. So let's use it and atleast it needs to be implemented for a while. It's just like the creatures getting out of the hell & landing up on earth.(just like we saw in "Hell Boy". Sucktips & Vasud the hellBoys. They're enough & no more creatures needed to spoil the sanity of the Lounge. Let's lock it and let the Lounger's live happily. :-D. Ofcourse, this is just a rant. Just for fun. Byebye. Long live Loungers!

I do agree that I find some of Satips posts annoying--mainly just links without comments or discussion, or old jokes. I have nothing against him personally. However, I think we should be able to post what we want. Many of us liked the Today in History daily post, but the author got so many nasty emails that he quit. (I think it was Mike but I can't remember...) I do my weekly bizarre holidays and I know some people don't care for it. But look at it like a newspaper. Do you stop your subscription because you don't like one columnist? No! You just don't read that columnist. So if I see a message title from Satips like JOTD I will probably not read it.

                                  What? Why is it needed?

Just for the record, so am I. Teaches you something though, doesn't it. But why exactly should my post have been marked for abuse? Marc

I voted you a 5 because there is a very obvious trend developing (particularly over the past 12 months) and it is seriously devaluing the site. I used to use CP a lot and post frequently but haven't done so for several months. I start using it again and i am amazed by the number of totally pointless articles being posted. The first thing i do on CP is look at the latest articles. Did you know it is now common to see 2 or 3 articles by a single developer appear in one day? I do take the time to have a look at most of them and have reported several in the past couple of weeks that have since been removed. Yes they are (without exception so far) from Indian or Pakistan contributors. There always has been some great stuff on CP but it seems to me that the vast majority of new postings probably should be deleted. Jon

Seriously?! I've meticulously saved and categorized all of his published works here on the Lounge. I'm in the process of compiling a "Best of Satips" anthology, to pass on his wisdom and humor to future generations. I now see the Lounge's purpose as simply a scratchpad for His Geniusness.
