The pope does not represent all christians, only catholics.

No, for the topic, but I see others have already expressed sentiments similar to mine that this is material suitable for the soapbox.

You know, this is definitely soap-box stuff, but I just have to weigh in here... a few years ago, one of my sons came as close to possible as losing an eye. I'm over it, he's over it, but it was a freak accident that forever altered his future. The hardest part for me was to see a 15 year old come to grips with something like this - it's probably harder than the injury itself. Anyway, in the process of learning all about the human eye, and it's incredible DESIGN, I have come to the conclusion that evolution is not a reasonable scientific theory. Period. The above statement is dogmatic, and I freely admit to it being so. And I will state that I am a Christian believer, but don't let that deter you. I am also an engineer in training, and there is no way I could ever conclude that the human eye could EVER evolve. It is simply too perfect. We look at a high end, state of the art motherboard, multiple layers, cooling systems, and we know that someone verybright and creative has designed this miracle of technology. Then we look at life and conclude it's random? Semi random? It isn't reasonable. just a different perspective. Now returning to randomly beating on my keyboard, hoping a functional piece of s/w emerges....

Charlie Gilley Will program for food... Whoever said children were cheaper by the dozen... lied. Overheard in a cubicle: "A project is just a bug under development." Seeking to rise above the intelligence of a one eared rabbit... Caught in a vortex of weirdness...

I disagree with that simply because human knowledge does not span far enough to judge what is possible and what is not.

Incredible eye design? Roughly speaking - we have 24-hour day and during one third of it the human eye is pretty useless. Ergo – Thomas Edison invents a light bulb – both evolution and HUMAN design. That is incredible! Lots of people are using glasses because this “incredible design” is not working for them. An eagle can spot a fish in the water from hundreds of feet above – that is an evolution in action my friend. Why are you giving credit to God who was created by an ignorant human for sole purpose of keeping the flock in ignorance? “Thank God” for separation of churches!

as I said, this is soapbox material. Your faith is apparently stronger than mine.
