Sofware_Specialist, what you did was illegal. You put The Code Project at risk from copyright holders by reproducing their content verbatim without permission. Please don't. Plus, we'd far rather you gave an insightful summary of the full article which you can link to.

Wow. I see that in your short time here you've been routinely blasted for being a tad... let's say, "impolite". But i'm gonna try to be polite in this reply, on the off-chance that you're just new to this whole "written communication" thing:
- When you quote from someone else's article, always attribute your quote. This should include at minimum the original title, author, and publication. If the article is on a website, then include a hyperlink to that site. If don't know how to include hyperlinks in your post, then ask. If posting from a periodical, then include the publication date.
- Don't quote an entire article unless the original is unreachable. You should also attempt to obtain permission from the author.
- Include your own thoughts. Why did you find the article interesting? What made you think others would? What sort of comments would you like to see?
Please keep these guidelines in mind when next you post something of this nature.

Well yeh if you would say politely then i would reply back in a polite manner but if you are not polite then do not expect me to be polite. I guess its fair enough..You get what you give... Anyway thanks for letting me know about this issue..ill keep in mind in future:)..

Yes - economic efficiency - i.e. for every £1 of electricity I put in I get £4 worth of heat. Obviously the other heat comes from the air (othe people's heat, solar, birds farting, leaves mulching etc.)

Nevada Solar One uses parabolic trough technology, so far the most economical system in use. It also happens to be right up the street (so to speak) from my house. I watched it being built, and snuck into the plant for a peek until the onsite security guy finished his donut and ran me off. I can't believe they gave that goof a gun.:suss: Still, he was nice about it. I'm working on getting our people here at the tribal power company a tour of the plant next Fall, since we may soon be building our own.:) (Shhh... you didn't hear that from me. I'm still spreading the rumor that the tribe is building a nuclear plant. We've got the river; we just need an active fault to build the facility atop.)

Probably best to have a bunch of smaller plants scattered around to lower the transmition lose, but still a great idea. Also, noticed a while back that they are building a plant of this type in Spain. Sure wish they would throw a few Billion $$$ of the goverment's pork funding into this one. But then again, providing a solution to everyone's energy needs is not exactly a good thing for a consumer driven economy that is wrapped up in fossil fuels..

Probably best to have a bunch of smaller plants scattered around to lower the transmition lose, but still a great idea. Also, noticed a while back that they are building a plant of this type in Spain. Sure wish they would throw a few Billion $$$ of the goverment's pork funding into this one. If you ever get a chance to visit Las Vegas, it's about a half hour south to the plant, just north of the dry lake. Don't let the Boulder, NV address fool you; Boulder has claimed city limits 20 minutes outside of town. Dreamers... There is also colocated there one of the biggest transmission switchyards I've seen - El Dorado Substation - on the same turnout from the highway. Take the road to Laughlin, NV and Bullhead City, AZ out of Vegas. You can't miss the two facilities, as there's nothing else to see for 100 miles.:sigh:
