can any one share his/her .net interview exp. here.guys and gals come fwd and share ur exp. with question and answer.it will help us to know the gud question.

The first question I was asked was "How long have you been developing in C#?" The last answer I gave was "Tuesday, Heathrow". There were more questions and answers in between, which I can't remember, but if you're up to the job you are interviewing for, you'll be able to answer those yourself.

The company I work for gives you an assignment and two hours in which to complete it. We don't expect that you complete everything in the time given, although one person did, we just want to see how your thought processes work and what you thought was more important to tackle and how you went about it. You are allowed to use the internet duing the test. After the time is up we'll talk through with the candidate how they went about it. If you are good you will shine. If you are no good it will tell. Different companies use different ways of assessing whether a candidate is any good or not. Most seem to ask the question "What is polymorphism?" We don't. It is a pointless question from which the interviewer can learn little of value. An academically minded person can answer it perfectly. Most people who've been through an interview or two will have a good answer memorised. There are many excellent developers out there use polymorphism every day but don't know what it is called, and why should they - the compiler doesn't care and it isn't a term that crops up in design meetings.

hello guys thanx for the Reply..some of them gave gud replied Some of them gave gud response while some them were bit negative but thanx to all. You know guys why I have started this thread just becoz people worked in dotnet having 3-4 year exp. But at the time of interview its difficult to face interviewer if u don't prepare urself with theory question as well.So guys please come up with more questions and answer.thanx

There is a book out there (disclaimer: I've never read it) that is made up of all the puzzles that Microsoft have asked people over the years. A lot of interviewers seem to think this is a good way to test developers. I, personally, don't. I would rather give them a practical test that is rooted in real world software development rather than ask them why manhole covers are round (and they are triangular where I live, so there is a cultural bias towards the US in those puzzles too) If you get one of those "I-must-interview-like-Microsoft-interview" nutters then this might give you some tips[^]. Be warned - It will freak you out.

It's not about knowing the questions. You really need to have a firm grasp on the basics. Here are a few that you really should be able to code without really thinking about: Web Services Reflection Garbage Collection The CLR Generics Delegates ADO.NET Basic ASP.NET / WinForms. If you don't have a grasp of these then you really aren't going to get through the door in my company. And by the way, I'm very very good at spotting somebody who's trying to bluff their way in.
