Does she make you angry? Have you talked to her today? Are you mad at her? Have you played with furry bunnies? Does you mother seem to control you? Is she alive? Have you peed lately? Go on hurry tell me about why your mother is angry? Is she your real mother? Where is she from? Did you just pick your nose? Is that a cat? Is that where Sam at green eggs and ham? What is that smell? Did you read all of this? Why? Are you more confused? Are you more tensed? Relax, close yours and puts some soft music on. And above all you must have fun.

      Hi, Some time i become confused and tense, i tried a solution "Take a long and smooth breath for a while" it usually works but some time it doesn't, does any one has got some sort of advice or solution, that what a person should do when he/she becomes tense.

      Who isn't? When I was in the infantry it was fear. If you weren't afraid and shitting your pants then there was something wrong with you and you needed to get serious help. Well, same here. We all get confused, tense, angry, etc... If you aren't feeling any of these emmotions from time to time then you are really fucked in the head my friend and you need to see a doctor.         LMAO. I agree 100%. My grandpappy used to get so upset when someone would bother him while he was dropping a deuce...now I know why. Unfortunately, it is one of the only times that I truly get to be by myself and away from the kids and the nagging wife.

          I read somewhere/sometime/someone said that slouching does a lot to make the body relax. Rest your arms at your side or on a table and pitch a little forward letting your spine support you instead of your *tense* muscles. Not great for the body but it will help with relaxation. I've never found a form of visualization that helps at all. They are too distracting and you lose the thread of the conversation taking place. I know some people who take a benadryl about one hour prior to any meetings or public speaking because they get so wound up. Me personally, routine and rigorous physical exercise. Do that before your meeting and you'll be good to go.

                True. For me, I surrender those tense moments, hurled abuses and malicious criticisms to the Lord. I never take them to personally at any time. Whenever, there is a heap of rubbish things that plunder the mind, I take resort to chanting of my Lord's name "Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa" at least for ten times in leisure.:) The Lord is omni-potent and let us not succumb to mundane worldly beastly instincts and venoms. :rose:

                      This is an odd little technique that someone taught me decades ago, but I found it quite effective. Open and stretch your mouth as though you were yawning, and hold it. You may have to repeat this a couple of times, but eventually, you'll yawn. As one yawn tends to cause another, you'll find it easier and easier to continue yawning. I don't pretend to understand the biology behind it, but when you yawn, you experience physical sensations of relaxation (the old guy who taught me this explained it much better, but it was many years ago and I've slept since then). Whatever the underlying physiology, continued yawning repeats this effect, and I've found from experience that it helps me relax and "un-tense" on a physical level, making it easier for my state of mind to follow along. Naturally, I would go somewhere that provided some privacy while doing this. There are a lot of relaxation techniques that are initiated from the mind rather than the body, but I found this one particularly useful because when I got wound up about something, it was more difficult to exhibit mental discipline. The physical responses of the body are often much easier to control than the mind. Anyway, I know this sounds strange (that's certainly what I thought when the guy told me), but perhaps it'll work for you as it did for me.

                        I agree. I actually make it a point to take a 10 minute walk during every day. Helps break up the day a bit and lets the body and mind unwind a bit before getting back to work.

                        It takes a 5 mile run or an hour with the weights to do it for me. Guess I'm a little too 'type A' :-O.

                                You bet. I like meetings scheduled for 1:00 or 2:00 p.m. on my running days. I stroll in, reeking of endorphins. I just :love: everybody. Then some manager has to ruin it by opening their mouth.

                                  Not sure if your kids would be old enough to get this one... I like "making a supervisor".  My father in law told me about that one, and it cracked me up.  Still does...
