I find this amusing but pointless. I just typed in www.googel.com and lo and behold, Google actually came up. Seems like someone has done some forward thinking; :-D

Google has snatched up pretty much every domain name even remotely similar to google.com. I think that's just smart. I find it amusing when companies complain and even try to sue people who buy domain names that are similar to theirs; in the real world you don't sue people for having a physical address that is one number different than yours, do you? If you want that real estate, BUY IT. Same thing with domain names. If it didn't occur to you to buy "_____sucks.com" for $8, that's your problem.

Reminds me of that Mike Rowe guy who had a domain name called MikeRoweSoft (or something like that) and finally I think he made a deal with Microsoft to give up his domain name to them.

I was thinking about that just yesterday. Thing is, he probably could have won that case, and I wish he had because it would have stopped bullying like this in its tracks. But, he didn't have the $100k or so it would have cost to litigate against Microsoft so he gave in. It stinks, but I understand why he did it.

He probably got a good offer from MS. Probably a lot of goodies and maybe some training or courses paid. I remember it made headlines big time and there are lawyers who only get paid if you win the case, so I am sure some of those approached him to handle his case. I would have loved if he had gone to court and won :-D

I long since learned to have a hand on an x, or double/triple check my spelling (or google rather than try a direct url and let google correct my spelling). Some of those mispellings can lead to some not fit for lounge sites.

Microsoft's initial offer was $10. They apparently settled for a trip to a research tech fest, certification training, msdn subscription, and an xbox + choice of games.
