Does anyone have any recommendations for security software? I'm currently using AVG Free, Spybot, Ad-Aware Personal and Comodo Firewall Pro. I'm thinking about switching to eset Nod32 or Norton after reading the av-comparatives. Any suggestions?

Wow, I didn't realize that AVG got such a low score in the latest av-comparitives. It used to be right up there. I'm using AVG paid for version but now I have my doubts.

I've been using Avast and Comodo Firewall Pro (is that the free version?) for three years now and never had a problem with them.

You can also use Javacool's SpywareBlaster to block bad pages and certain cookies. Just make sure to update it often.;) HiJackThis is a good removal tool when dealing with IE BHOs, although Spybot has that capability as well. I use Spybot S&D with the TeaTimer turned on, so it notifies me when a program is trying to write to the registry. Although it's a lot like the Vista UAC...Deny or Allow. But i've had it for two or three years now, so i've grown used to it, and have it set up to ignore certain things and block others automatically without even bothering me. But it's most helpful when i'm trying to track down spyware on a client's machine. That and a good firewall. Although on my own machine i only use the Windows firewall, since i'm behind a router and the machine is clean. Roswell

accoding to their May 2007 comparison report they used "last signature and updates are from 2nd February 2007" and they used them to detect new viruses that were released between "2nd February and 2nd May 2007"...The report was for a test suite that checked out the ability of the base programs to predict new viruses without any updates...so the results are not valid for any fully up to date packages. Take a look at the February test results that were run against packages that were fully updated as of the date of the test... Steve

Avast is far better than AVG.
