I used to put in quite a lot of overtime hours, but since they never payed for them and the bonus was a waste I just stopped wasting my time. When my overtime hours will be appreciated (not only by seldom thank-yous) I'll probably consider doing it again. I put in a few extra hours now and then if it's something really serious but that's it.

I tend to work from 8:30AM to 6PM with 30 minutes or so for lunch. I am paid for 37.5 hours a week, with 5 weeks paid holiday.

Seems like a lot of young people or just lazy people have been answering. I work as long as I want some days 4 hours some days 18. If you feel that your just going to put in what is required by the management you must not be very happy in your work. If you are not happy then quit now and find something that you love to do.!!!!

Depends what you mean by "working hours". I do eight hours a day for my salary (if more than four people have to do two hours overtime a day, you're short staffed, so hire someone), but have no shortage of other projects, that I work on in the evenings.
