The only way to loose weight is to eat less than what you are spending. or spending more energy than what yout are eating. aerobics alone will not make you loose weight.

Not sure if aerobics will work out, however I've seen this (http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/~jajoo/gmdiet.html[^]) working out (provided, one strictly adheres to the plan) :)

Yes, certainly. And I suppose that a good diet plan will also help. I had a collection of books on fitness with a couple of books among them dealing with how to reduce the body weight. Never read those books though. I was rather intrested in reading the books on weight gain. :-D I have been among the category of the skinny guys and wanted to put up a bit of body weight. I enrolled myself to a Gym a couple of months back aiming to put up some lean mass and increase my body weight. I even followed a diet routine. Now, I am happy that i have gained about 4KG of weight in 2 months. :)

Regards, Vijay. God may not give us what we 'want', but he surely gives us what we 'need'.

I think I can speak with some knowledge on this subject as I have lost over 5 stone (32kg) over the last couple of years and kept it off for a few months now :-D:-D:-D There is no trick - the answer to weight loss is eat less and do more exercise. To answer your question - it is hard to lose a lot of weight with exercise alone since even hard training sessions will only use up a few hundred calories. It is far easier to cut down your food by a few hundred calories. However, I have been doing lots of exercise, both aerobic and strength training over the last couple of years, and I believe the benefits in how I feel - both my mood and my body tone - have been considerable. Basically, when I take exercise I feel better and eat less. So if you want to loose weight - eat a healthy varied diet with small portions and find some exercise you enjoy - aerobics whatever, just something you enjoy so you will keep doing it! :)

I think it is important that you enjoy what ever exercise you do otherwise it becomes a chore and you are less likely to stick to it. I do a lot of mountain biking (not to lose weight but because I enjoy it) I lost weight without even realising (didnt really need to lose the weight as I am only 12stone now). And whats more the fact that I enjoy cycling means I go to the gym to get better at it and this I enjoy rather than endure. It is important to have a target that is quantifiable (not just lose weight) such as knock 30 seconds of your time at running a mile or increase you biceps by an inch etc. Make sure your goal is challenging but achievable. Hope this is of some use Dan
