Any CPians near Manchester?
-
I'm going to be at a customer site in Rossendale, Lancashire (according to Google Maps it looks to be about 20-30 km north of Manchester) sometime in the near future. Anybody want to: a. Have a  with a fellow CPian? b. Suggest any quick sites to see? Prolly won't have time to do too much. c. Suggest areas to avoid? Dates are still undecided but I suspect it will happen in early to mid September. I may be taking a quick side trip to Moorgreen, Nottingham to visit another customer. :~

Well, my company has an office in Lincoln (about 45 minutes from Nottingham) and they are arranging some training course there. So, if the training course and your visit to Nottingham coincide then it would be great.

Avoid Salford :P You may want to visit the Trafford Centre - is quite cool the first time you visit it. Oh you could try Buffet City in Manchester too if you like Chinese (it is an all you can eat buffet). Lots of trendy bars, cafes etc too. Its not a bad place and you should enjoy your stay. Dan

We had a Manchester, South Dakota. I say HAD because Tornado Tuesday 2003 wiped it out. The National Geographic channel recorded it. There were only about 12 people left in the township. Thankfully my uncle and the family farm were outside of that twister's path. (Although one ripped through 10 years earlier.)

That was my first thought too. I'm in CT and the only Manchester I know is east of the river with a big mall!
