      I have used DragonflyCMS to create the site for a club I belong to... it uses LAMP hosting (which is a lot cheaper than .NET hosting here in Australia).

        If your host supports .NET, you may try CommunityServer[^]. I like discountASP.NET[^] for .NET hosting. If your host is in linux then you should probably try "phpBB[^]". BlueHost might be the best hosting for PHP website...

            for ASP, from two independent evaluations with the same feature requirements: Snitz Forums[^] by a wide margin. Easy to install, helps you detect configuration problems, good code base (low on comments, though), good feature set, eay to customize even for web n00bs. We haven't used it "in prodution" yet, though.

                You might look at: http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/aspnetforums.asp[^] As for Community Server, they charge for too many things unless you are into paying for open source.
