I felt very unhappy at my job lately. Stuck. My career was not going anywhere and the levels of incompetent management were growing rapidly in the company. It even felt like going backward to dull VB programming. As a result I gained some weight and had outbreaks of asthma. Oh, well. Today, I did what I had to do as a man. I quit! I was a bit worried about the tight market past weeks in combination with being a foreign citizen. But I must tell you all that for the first time in months I feel really free. Finally time to dedicate to my masters degree. To visit friends. And a long summer break. :-) Sincerely, Tomaz

Thanks. I am a bit weird, but I prefer doing some road work for much less money to doing lousy work in the area that I love (software engineering) because of other peoples incompetence. :-) Sincerely, Tomaz

If it was making you unhappy then there's no point in staying. Best of luck. :) Simon I need your clothes, your boots, and your copy of VS.NET. Sonork ID 100.10024 C++ : The slag of all languages

You spend 7.5 hours a day working, life is too short to spend the best part of your day feeling unhappy. I;ve have done the same as yourself in the past, if I don't like the work, politics or people in your working day just work out, no notice period - nothing. Anyway you'll find another job, and good luck with your search. R U French? :-) It's 8.5 hours + you're required to take half an hour for lunch in Switzerland. And then there's one hour driving. And half an hour thinking about it before and after. Regards, Tomaz

I share your feeling :-( tstih wrote: My career was not going anywhere and the levels of incompetent management were growing rapidly in the company. Fortunately, my current project manager is the best manager that I ever had in my 4 years carrer. It's one of the main reasons why I don't quit this consulting job ... , the other strong reason is to pay the expenses, since I'm married and the only that work, so you see the picture ... In a near future, probably in September I 'll do the same thing that you did and get a decent coding work :-) tstih wrote: It even felt like going backward to dull VB programming. I'm programming TCL , that's even worse ... tstih wrote: Finally time to dedicate to my masters degree. To visit friends. And a long summer break.
