What we need is Software Developer Appreciation Day

Who's with me? :) Question is - how does one get a "Day" started and make it a regular occurrence? And how do we keep ourselves from trying to have more than one day? Peace!

If you think it costs a lot to do it right, just wait until you find out how much it costs to do it wrong!

1. Count the number of software developers in the world. 2. Multiply that by $3. 3. Call Hallmark and give them that number.

"Well, yeah, we all called 'Geeks' too, but that is a bad generalization that..."
"I do not see what 'Revenge of the Nerds' has to do with..."
"Uh, sure, I will wait on hold for this 'tone' person..."

There was an article on Wickipedia last year about Programmer's Day - the 256th day of the year. Unfortunately, there was a bunch of arguing about the posting and it ended up being deleted. The programmers in my office are going to go out to lunch - just a small celebration for ourselves!

You can get cheap cards for as little as 99c. Most are in the $4-6 range, but that price is spread over lots of middle men in addition to the store and the company who printed it.
