Maybe everyone already knows this, but it was news to me. Microsoft aren't allowed to distribute Office 2000 anymore (since 2004 in fact) see here[^]. I'm after Word 2000 cos one of our customers can't run our product with it. We have a MSDN universal agreement and you can't even download it fromthe MSDN site. The dude at MS said I just need to get hold of the MSDN disk from anyone else I can. Great. Sooo, does anyone have the Office 2000 MSDN disk that they could copy for me? (Is that allowed?) I think its disk #0013. Ta, Adam

You may legally copy and install Office2000 using someone else's license key as long as you have a purchased license for a newer copy of Office (eg 2003), which obviously you may not install on any PC.

A quick search on NexTag[^] turns up some sellers...I haven't used any shown, so can't vouch for the service.

Maybe cheaper in the end to just buy Office 2007 for the customer. ;P

So then why do you need it? Use a version of Office that your product does work with.

Maybe he wanted to test *why* it wouldn't work.

Office comes in a number of editions depending on whether you acquired it via an OEM installation, as a packaged product in a shop (or online), or through volume licensing. Not all of these avenues offer 'downgrade rights' - look for that term in the license agreement. In fact, I think only volume licensing offers downgrade rights.

Hmm. Not so easy. They have a large install base and won't even move from Windows 2000 to XP, never mind office. What year is it? 2007? Sheesh. Adam
