"You made a smart choice in choosing an iPod" Yeah, you didn't follow trends at all, you evaluated the market and went against the grain. What a joke. I *hate* iPods. The screens are too small to actually watch anything on, and they add insult to injury by being manufactured from fairy wings, or something equally as fragile. I love my Zen W, I keep it well protected and it's huge screen looks great. I love my MuVo, it cost next to nothing, runs forever on one battery and hasn't got a screen worth protecting, so I don't have to worry, I just have music, where-ever I want it.

Yeah I agree - I bought a $20 512Mb MP3 player from WalMart. Lasts for ages ona single AA battery, won't get nicked and can supply me with more than enough music for a day.

I *almost* sent back my Archos:rose: to get a button fixed because it kept switching off. I found out at the last minute it was the docking station. I hear there is a new line with wi-fi out now, which supports streaming like the PS3.

I agree about video... I don't see the attraction. But I love my 2GB nano... it's been very rugged, is perfect for running, and I like the UI. My biggest complaint is iTunes... it's a real pig on Windows. I'm not so sure about the new nanos, though I like the song they have in the ad :)

It ain't much better on OSX, unless they have made some drastic improvements recently.

I do and my wife does, neither of us would touch an iPod. Even little Luke likes running around pretending it's he's listening to music. And for the last time it's now brown, everytime I mention I have a BLACK Zune everybody asks me why I could buy a brown turd like that.

They are great. I had one that took a hell of a pounding. Finally my 18 month old destroyed it with some water. But, I have to agree with hide-a-pod message that the zune is a ugly pos.

I bought the brown turd and I love it. Matter of preference I guess.

5. The same thing happens in the console wars (only x10000). Penny Arcade has had some pretty funny commentary about that lately.

Weird. I have pretty much the same experience with an iPod nano (the 1st generation one, I don't much like the new one.) Only difference is I don't watch video on small screens so I don't need or want the "huge screen."

That surprises me... I always assumed it was horrible under windows because Apple did a sloppy job of porting it. I didn't think it would also be that way under OSX. I like some parts of it, like the iTunes store interface, but it's just so damn slow.
