Accents from Caribbean countries, like Jamaica, are pretty cool. Similarly, many sub-Saharan African accents (like Kenya) are similarly cool. Although nothing beats an attractive woman with a British accent. :-D No generalization is 100% true. Not even this one.

The video store by my house recently hired this Australian Dude. He sounds like he just got off the plane too. Heavy accent, lingo, etc. I don't know his name, but he's so cool! He's like, "There ya go, mate. Righty then. Take care..." It great. I think Australians have the coolest accent on earth, second only to Scottish accents. Why not throw away a dime? I throw away ten pennies all the time.

My favorite accent (and delivery) is that of John Cleese (Fawlty Towers, A Fish Called Wanda, etc.). /ravi Let's put "civil" back into "civilization" http://www.ravib.com ravib@ravib.com

I enjoy listening to the accent too; even when they're speaking English its still there. It just sucks when they're talking too fast for you to know what they're saying AND they're teaching the hardest class you've ever taken ;P James

As a side note, I often wonder how long it takes for someone to pick up a new accent when they move to a foreign country/region. I remember being so shocked when I heard Mel Gibson talking in his normal Australian accent in a news interview. I'd only ever heard him talk with the american accent in the movies. Then there's my dentist who *looks* heavily East Indian. To look at him you'd expect him to sound like Apu from the Simpsons, but he actually talks like some sort of Broadcast DJ or something. It's cool. Why not throw away a dime? I throw away ten pennies all the time.

That's interesting. I was talking to a french girl once who said she prefers the Australian accent to the English and US accents because she can understand it easier. This was interesting because everytime I go to the States I have to t a l k   s l o w l y  to the natives so they can understand my mumblings. I'll have to dig up that survey that found the Aussie accent was the considered the most trustworthy accent. If only they knew :D (mwahahahaha!) cheers, Chris Maunder

Perhaps I was embellishing the story a bit. He's Austrailian as I've ever seen. Why not throw away a dime? I throw away ten pennies all the time.
