        A compiler for a made-up (simple) imperative language is always a good idea... specially if written in, say, PROLOG. It may seem an odd choice of programming language but it greatly simplifies the parser part.

            How about an OS that is better than Vista. Oh wait. Windows 3.1 has come and gone...

              Oh what about guinix has *nix that you can actually use.

              If you're struggling developing software, then I'd recommend gardening.

                I find that simple projects that actually do something useful are the best. I stress simple. Also, try to keep it in line with what interests you the most.
