Not really. I'm actually trying to re-engineer my return to Canada. I'm looking forward to the payback when you cash Canadian into local Currency (Jordanian Dinar). This is because the local Dinar is permanently aligned with the US Dollar at $1 = 0.71 JD. More bang for ma buck! Things might suck when I get back to Canada if everything turns out to be permanently over priced because of the difference...

I can tell you as a Canadian I am not happy either! Inflation will be on the rise, now with higher oil price we got higher inflation due to the strength of the $ Also manufacturing is losing money, being forced to close shop and in a few years down the road the big R word which is making its was onto the street. that's right kids, Recession. I am moving my CAD to my UDS bank a/c and will let it sit there till the UDS eventually comes back. Then I will collect my profits and be a much happier Canadian...LOL

that might be a long wait. Our govt having to cut interest rates to mitigate the damage from the subprime housing mess at the same time most of the other major currencies are raising their interest rates is probably going to keep the USD weak for a long time.

Hi, I am in the exact opposite side of the equation. I am buying Canadian Dollar. For expats who are used to make x value of money in a currency with a fixed to USD rate, we are losing 60% of what we used to make 4 years ago. The regular loan payment has been increasing (this is in addition to Interest Rate, Money Value of Time, Currency Exchange fees) You end up with a skeleton of a Lonnie! Regards

hi, When we are exporting goods, we don't want our currency to be too high. So if Alberta is selling Oil for a price of $80 now, it is selling for a price of $48 of 2002. That is why I don't share the thrill. Cheers. Raz
