With HealthVault, all of your health information is in one place that you control. Created in cooperation with leading privacy advocates, respected security experts, and dozens of the world's leading healthcare organizations, HealthVault was built on the principle that you should control your own health records. http://www.healthvault.com/[^] What!! Microsoft and Health!!! :~ Microsoft HealthVault uses Windows Live ID to authenticate your identity. If you have a Live ID with a 'weak' password, you will be asked to create a 'strong' password. :wtf:

What level of control does this give me, and what level does it give to others ? Am I allowed to view my records and edit them ? Can I even understand them ?

I haven't registered my self there so I have no idea. But I read that you have the option to share the information or not. Yes, we need unified system to save time at Doctor's office or ER. But I am not going to trust my medical records with Microsoft. BTW, you can upload the data from the medical devices to your health record. Find home health and wellness monitoring devices like sport watches, blood glucose monitors, peak flow metere, and blood pressure monitors that work with HealthVault Connection Center. http://www.healthvault.com/ConnectionCenter/[^]

Health care IT has huge potential for Microsoft (e.g. see Microsoft and the Health Care IT Market [^]). Google is also planning to enter this market big-time. The remarkable thing about the HealthVault launch is that Microsoft actually beat Google to the punch.

Google - aren't they the same charming folk who offer free email with the cavaet that they can keep and do whatever they want with every item that flows through their greasy palms? "Confidentially", my confidence is overflowing
