Excel on my colleagues machine moans and asks for confirmation every time a file containing a macro is opened. We wiped out excel and re installed, changed the security level and then ran out of ideas. The same files work perfectly well on my machine. I suspect it may not be an xl prob, but a more general prob with his machine. Any ideas?

Yeah tried that, still no joy. I have just found out he had a problem last week and reinstalled windows. I think that may have something to do with it as his machine is 7 years old! Probably due to fall apart anyway.

Ahh... that might be it, the registry having been re-created. I remember that there was a Security key to be added to the HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Office/ key to prevent the security dialog popping up. I dont remember the key name right now, but will post back if I do...

            Check out the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\Security\XLM value.
