Hi all.. Im a bit confused..Iam a hard core gaming fan.. I am plannin to buy a new gaming machine.. but iam confused whether to get a gaming PC or a PS3 or XBOX.. Which is the better option..Opinions please thanks,

It really depends on the sorts of games you want to play, and how much you want to spend. - Go into a games shop and browse the PC/PS3/360 games on offer, and see which appeal to you most. Have you got any friends with 360s or PS3s who you could visit to try out some games? If you buy a top of the range PC, you'll be lucky to get 6 months out of it before the latest top spec games won't run on it comfortably, and you'll need to upgrade again. If you buy a 360 or a PS3, you should get 3-5 years out of it, before the next generation of consoles comes along

I'm tired of constantly having to upgrade my PC to play the latest games, so for me a gaming console is a better option. It's cheaper than building up a proper gaming PC and you know that whatever game you buy / rent will always work without worrying about what the system requirements are.

On the whole you are better off with a console than a pc at the moment because that is were all the money and hence all the games are. Value wise the ps3 is a better computer and is not as likely to just stop working than the xbox 360 unfortuantely games wise the xbox 360 is bitch slapping the ps3 all round the town at the moment. personally I'd have to recomend the xbox360 even though mine has just died after only nine months. I have ordered a new one but if this one goes then it's the last one I'm buying. I'm not prepared to get into the whole having to get a new console every year as I might as well just use the pc in the long run it would be cheaper and if something goes I can replace the parts myself.

Did you actually pay for a new one? You do know you could have just had it repaired/replaced under warranty?

I have been mostly a PC gamer (lightly, who has the time otherwise). My next toy will be a Wii though, only because it will get my off my lower padded side and actually make me active. The others do not come close to that.

The 360 is awesome. It has a wide selection of great games. Xbox Live is a lot of fun. Marketplace allows you to buy all sorts of new stuff for your games. The ps3 wasn't worth the money in my opinion. I have to use my computer for many other things besides gaming so I can't buy too many Pc games as they quickly take up memory.
