Given the standard model (as far as I understand it) there is no "uncreated portion". Everything that exists is within an expanding shell of space-time. Outside of that shell there is no space and there is no time. There is nothing. Atoms did not create the big bang. I think the most recent theories for the cause of the big bang concern concepts such as negative energy or vacume energy or other bizzaro concepts of that sort. Atoms themsleves were not even capable of forming for some time after the big bang. Before that there was simply an energetic soup of quantum particles which would eventually condense to form atoms. Today nature doesn't have to change us so we can adapt to our eviroment, we humans have taken charge and are taloring our enviroment to suit us instead of us suiting our enviroment(redundance:)), and we need alot of brian power to do that.Thus our brins would have to grow bigger and better. The average IQ a century ago is mental retardation today.Heck, we may not even have to wait for mother nature, if genetics turns out to be what it looks like we may be able to speed up the process exponentially. Imagine an average IQ of a 1000(Star trek baby!!!!:):):):))

Evolution is based on the principle of uncontrolled mutations over a long period of time producing beneficial changes in a species. Actually I believe that Humans are no longer evolving. Natural selection is the cornerstone of the theory, survival of the fittest and all that. Current human practice is to help everyone survive (and rightly so) regardless of how fit they are at birth. So is the human species causing defective genetic information to survive in its species? As for 'Brian' power (always look on the bright side of life), what evidence do you have that we are using more of our brains? I can give you evidence that we as a species are actually getting dumber. Jerry Springer, Big Brother, Reality TV, etc.

i didn't realize you were being literal... but do you have any sources for that? because a quick google search shows as many people saying the average IQ is declining as increasing - and each side is trying to prove a point (better environment makes life too easy , so people are getting dumb or better environment makes people smarter because they are healthier). -c
