Clockwise or counterclockwise? So which are you?

I just wasted about 20mins of our departments time by IMing this everyone: Clockwise or counterclockwise?[^] ;P

I can only see clockwise which is interesting as I consider my self left brain dominant. At first I said the conclusion is wrong because I am very logical but I some people have called me a thinker and a feeler at the same time so I guess this could be possible...

For those who can only see one direction try focusing on the outstretched leg, when its all the way to the right you can imagine that its in the front or the back of the view, when it rotates to the left it will be the opposite - if it was at the front it will now be at the back. Now say front, back, front, back as the leg moves from the left position to the right (if you work in an office this is usually better done in your head to avoid attracting unwanted attention) The figure will definitely appear to be rotating one way - if you then reverse the points at which you say front, back and now effectively say back, front then the figure will reverse direction - it worked for me anyway!

Odd, because I see the figure spinning clockwise, yet I am very left-brained.

Maybe you just think you are but in reality you are creative and a "big picture" kinda guy? Here in the office all the "designer" types (myself included) saw her going clockwise while all the "coder" back-end guys saw her going anti-clockwise. A couple could see her going both ways but they were probably drinking at work, again.

Okay, i got completely confused for a moment there, when i first looked, it seemed to be counter-clockwise, i read some text, looked back and shwam, clockwise. A few moments later i figured it out. Pretty cool. So, what does that make me anyway? Equal on both sides? Reading some of the text engaged the other side of my brain?
My current favourite word is: Waffle Cheese is still good though.

Pains my eye. It's clockwise sometimes, counterclockwise sometimes, & at times she's simple swaying her legs (scroll down the page enough that only her legs are visible, then'll see it) ;)

Kinda cool :) Here's a trick if you wanna see her move both ways: a) look away b) imagine/visualize a clockwise/counterclockwise rotation c) look back, just a you imagined! Must be magic ;P

The rule of three: "The first time you notice something that might repeat, don't generalize it. The second time the situation occurs, develop in a similar fashion -- possibly even copy/paste -- but don't generalize yet. On the third time, look to generalize the approach."I can't seem to see counterclockwise no matter what i do. I'm starting to suspect it's a trick... when's the monster jump out?

No trick. If you are familiar with body dynamics, then your brain will not let you see her go counter-clockwise. She is most definitely leaning in the clockwise direction. To go counter-clockwise goes against body movement. If you don't believe me, try to find one of your friends who is a good dancer, then ask them which direction she is going. A dancer is supposedly 'left brain' but they will see her going clockwise every time.
