Interesing. To the Romans too Saurn was the god of chaos, of reversal of fortunes. Saturnalia is a particular rite observed stil in theUK where at christmass the officers serve the soldiers their food in the canteen. The same thing at public schools too.

Truth is the subjection of reality to an individuals perception

Great. something's shared between different races, religions. They've had a common beliefs on specific things. I wish to make a study on this field but damn I'm stuck with this pc-job.:sigh: Also nobody pays you for making a study on it.that's bad.

You saw it in Van Helsing. Ahhh...good old Hollywood shaping our view of the world. :) For what it's worth, there's nothing in Christian Scripture (or Jewish Scripture, for that matter) about werewolves, nor anything about holding a cross against something to kill it, like you saw in Van Helsing. (The concept of having little crosses as jewelry, pendants, or charms is also a relatively modern invention. Wearing a cross around your neck would be really strange to folks in Jesus' time; it'd be akin to wearing an electric chair or guillotine around your neck today.)

Good old Irish, you mean? Bram Stoker was Irish, and created Van Helsing long before movies were produced in Hollywood. :)

Btw, forget Werewolves. You have this 666 depicting evil right. Please check my reply to bonesoft, or in a line, Evil-->666<--'Sat'an<--'Sat'urn<-'Sat'urday. All 6 things. So the word "Satan" could have come from "Saturn".

As has been already pointed out to you, the word/name 'Satan' comes from Hebrew; whereas the word/name 'Saturn' comes from Latin. And there is nothing inherently evil about the number 666. That number is "the number of a man's name." The Hebrews and the Greeks (and the Romans) used letters of their alphabets to represent numbers. Thus, the numeric value of one's name could be computed by simply adding together the numeric values the letters also represented.

The reason why I'm clinging to that point is that, we call the Saturn , the Satan and the Saturday with the just one fine name : "Shani". If someone's so annoying and troubling us, we must say "he's a Shanian". Shani-an . just like CP-ian. :-D Wont this make you think that Saturn & Satan are related?

They come from completely different languages that developed in isolation. Kind of makes it unlikely that they are common.

I just checked with the brother this weekend and he confirmed 3 ancient Hebrew letters, as the article you mention does as well.

Some twisted lie, I would say that it comes out of Catholicisms. How you been Judah? I read this post then, I saw it look like you have a blog entry about. I'm headed over to read it.

I'm not saying Hollywood invented anything, they've just helped to spread it worldwide. Vunic thought most Christians believed in vamps and werewolves because he saw it in a Hollywood film. I think the same could be said for a certain former vice-president's sensationalist doomsday movie, but alas, I'm dipping into soapbox material. ;)

Hey Jason,   I'm doing well, thanks. You? I don't doubt that is some roots, probably from Roman Catholicism, that lend some kind of supernatural power to cross trinkets or jewelry. I suppose some folks still put supernatural value on those things, whether trinkets of crosses or saints. In any case, such things aren't Scriptural.
