I just read some more docs and picked up some more facts. let me throw them here and I'll recap my claim: Sat<-- Means 6. that has been clearly vindicated! Eg: -- Saturn the 6th planet. -- Saturday the 6th day of the week. -- The planet Saturn has six moons oribiting it. -- In our language(tamil), We have a common name for the satan & saturn + this one just did strike me: We also call saturday with same name. it's very much similar to the english way. It's like saying Saturn-day. Do you see a lots of 6s here? And that's how it's written as 666 in bible as evil. And a "Satan" could have evolved from this number. More over as I said, in our lang, we simply call both with the same name. So so many strong points to relate a Satan and a Saturn. It's not to depict "Saturn" to be evil, but it has some "strong" influences on human mind, which people would have found "satanic".

The word might have evolved from "Saturn" ? the 6th planet? I don’t think the point is just with the number but the planet. The planet Saturn, by our religion, is believed to cast it's mischievous/troubling/terrifying actives on a person. If a person undergoes a bad, traumatic time they call it like "Saturn has taken the orbit for him" something very similar to that. But the catch is this, in our language we have a common word for both "Saturn" and the "Satan". Imagine calling the planet Saturn as "Satan". Both sharing the same word. The planets may actually have an impact on people or anything on earth. Most of us would think that these planetary control thingie is ridiculous but we may have to believe it soon. Because, even the moon control the tides, the ocean->a liquid, a thing in the same state inside our brain controls our stability. And so schizophrenic patients go mad2 on these moon-controlled days-> Full moon day and new moon day. And that's why the Christians have made a link between their werewolves, vamps and the moon. I believe these werewolves are simple schizophrenic people getting into their m-square state. And in our religion, when a person is currently caught up on a satanic-window, he's asked to go round the temple n times that could be to nullify the centripetal/fugal force ot the saturn. What a research in two minutes before I go to sleep. WOW. Ok, many would hate this theory and few may support it. We need a way to let you express your opinion and how much my point is accepted. Ahhh...good old Hollywood shaping our view of the world. :) For what it's worth, there's nothing in Christian Scripture (or Jewish Scripture, for that matter) about werewolves, nor anything about holding a cross against something to kill it, like you saw in Van Helsing. (The concept of having little crosses as jewelry, pendants, or charms is also a relatively modern invention. Wearing a cross around your neck would be really strange to folks in Jesus' time; it'd be akin to wearing an electric chair or guillotine around your neck today.)

As has been already pointed out to you, the word/name 'Satan' comes from Hebrew; whereas the word/name 'Saturn' comes from Latin. And there is nothing inherently evil about the number 666. That number is "the number of a man's name." The Hebrews and the Greeks (and the Romans) used letters of their alphabets to represent numbers. Thus, the numeric value of one's name could be computed by simply adding together the numeric values the letters also represented.

I'm not saying Hollywood invented anything, they've just helped to spread it worldwide. I don't doubt that is some roots, probably from Roman Catholicism, that lend some kind of supernatural power to cross trinkets or jewelry. I suppose some folks still put supernatural value on those things, whether trinkets of crosses or saints. In any case, such things aren't Scriptural.
