So you came to the US as a political refugee one step ahead of the lynch mob?

I am 32 years old and the only elephant i ever saw was in a zoo so what is this obsession and for the last time WE DONT EAT MONKEY BRAINS and stuff like that half the population here is vegetarian including me. And one more thing: WE DO NOT WORSHIP COWS, Cows are domestic animals here they are like dogs in US you dont eat dogs do you, so similarly we dont like to eat cows THATS IT. and dont even get me starting on the snake thing . But all in all i like US, people are generally nice :-D

People in the US are just as dumb about other regions in the US. I once convinced someone that car insurance was way more expensive in South Dakota because of all the roaming bison. She thought the Indians (feather not dot) still lived in teepees.

Being in the other half, I am always amused when people assume that I am a vegetarian :-) Not only am I non-vegetarian, I'd struggle if I was given a veggie diet for more than a meal or two. I can't live without seafood and meat - not for long anyway.

You gotta visit Kerala. There, beef is pretty much as popular as fish and chicken. And a medium rare pepper sirloin steak would be among my favorite food items! The three most often ill-assumed aspects about me (as an Indian) would be :- 1. that I am a veggie (when I am a strict non-vegetarian) 2. that I speak hindi (when I can barely say a few broken phrases) 3. that I am a hindu and believe in 10,000 gods (when I am an atheist) But it's not a big deal really. Most Indians back home think all americans are like brit spears or paris hilton. So the mis-information and ignorance is not an american thing - it's a human thing I guess :-)

Yeah, I try not to have preconceived notions of Germany. I would like to see where I was born once before I die, but then I would love to visit everywhere once before I die and the latter is far less likely. :) The pictures of the city where I was born look inviting, but I figure there is an even chance they deliberately made them look that way. :) I chuckle at advertisements for locations here, and then sometimes I am even involved. I was involved in making a picture using satellites to advertise a certain region of New Mexico. When I used raw satellite images, I was told the lakes/rivers were too murkey and uninviting and the land was too brown. So I adjusted the color bands to make the landscape an inviting green and hand-painted the lakes (and a color swapped the rivers) to a beautiful bright swimming pool blue. Anyone who believes those images, obviously never read the litterature and only looked at the pictures.

I'm sure. I don't even know much about most states. I've only been to five. That's kind of funny, I've been around the world more than once and I've only really been to 5 states. (not counting places I never left the airport)

In Mumbay, near the Santa Cruz airport, I think the airport changed name while we were there a few years ago. I will check to see if I have a picture.

I've lived in Texas, New Mexico and Kansas. Visited Colorado and Hawaii. That's it other than several airports (NY, Minneapolis, Detroit, LAX, etc...) But I've also lived in Saudi Arabia and Japan, and I've been to several places in Europe, Viet Nam and Tailand. I'd like to see more of American and Canada. But I'm more interested in the rest of the world.

I have been almost all over the state of New Mexico, which is rare for any resident. I have yet to go to Roswell, which for some unearthly reason seems to be one of the first locations people visit. I keep my feet on the ground, mostly, I'll take Carlsbad Caverns any day over Roswell.

I'm actually only 3 hours away from Carlsbad, been there several times. I've never been to Roswell though. I have family there, but I've always heard there's nothing of interest there. I forgot to include Oklahoma, I've been there several times, but OK is pretty easy to forget.
