I've never known a hell quite like installing Linux. From the wireless keyboard not being recognized during the installation, (requiring me to pop out to purchase a wired one), to the screens being twice the size of the TV (no scrollbars), to it sticking in "Live" mode, thrashing the CD forever, to the actual install having write access errors, to the NIC somehow not appearing, that's 6 hours I want back. I was correct: Gusty Gibbon is a monkey with gas. It certainly isn't my choice of OS. Anyone have a "Yay" for YBL? (Yellow Box Linux) -- modified at 8:44 Wednesday 24th October, 2007

YBL? Googling only returned "Young Business Leaders", "Young Baseball League", "Your Bike Life", nothing, I'm guessing, to do with linux install issues :)

¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned Save an Orange - Use the VCF! VCF Blog

I can understand the keyboard problem but it sounds like a bum kernel version. If you want a 'live cd' go with Slax[^] other wise I guess the Ubuntu[^] will work as a fully installed version.

I am not perfect but I try to be better than those before me. So those who come after me will be better than I am.

Installing Linux is easy when it works, and torturous when it doesn't. As Linux grows complex enough to handle the infamous "I handle all devices" type OS problem, they are finding it is more and more like Windows in complexity, because that is exactly why Windows was complex. I've just repaired my Linux multi-boot at home, so I have Windows XP and Linux. We run Fedora at work, so I am familiar enough with the problems of Fedora to fix some of them.
